In 2007, monitoring the terminal extent of Exit Glacier using aerial photography continued. The September 2006 aerial photo was geo-registered by the Alaska Regional Office Geographic Information System (GIS) team, and the terminus position documented by Kenai Fjords National Park staff. Preparation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for generation of this GIS data was initiated. The aerial photo has been added to park GIS data colletion in “Theme Manager”. Addition of the terminus extent data to the Theme Manager is pending a revision of the Exit Glacier terminus data model by the GIS team.
