The Harding Icefield Trail at Exit Glacier continues to receive heavy summer use by hikers. From May to Oct 2007, 10,029 people signed in at the trail register; the highest number of hikers ever documented on the trail in a summer. This is not a conclusive number because surveys have documented that many hikers do not register. The number of hikers on the trail is most like higher than the register numbers reflects. Management priorities for the summer 2007 field season were: preventing new vegetation damage, monitoring visitor use and visitor impacts, and conducting restoration work. Heather Wetherbee (Biological Technician), Christina Kriedeman (SCEP Biologist), and Pyper Dixon (YCC member) were involved in several trail projects that supported these priorities.
