Authors' Abstract: The Klamath Network completed a pilot study to test the Invasive Species Early Detection Protocol at Redwood National and State Parks in the fall of 2007. The methods and results are described herein, along with lessons learned. This report also serves as a template for future annual reports on invasive species monitoring. In general, the pilot study confirmed that the approach would be feasible, with some unsubstantial modifications. The data collected, however, are not likely to be sufficient in and of themselves for modeling individual invasive species habitat relationships. However, the data may be supplemented with data from the vegetation protocol or data collected by parks.
