This document proposes additional management of recreational use for the waters of Lake Mead National Recreation Area. This plan describes four alternatives for managing the recreation area, including the management of personal watercraft, that would protect the resources and values of the park while offering recreational opportunities as provided for in the park’s enabling legislation, purpose, mission, and goals. Each alternative represents a different mix of recreational opportunity zoning and associated carrying capacity, resulting in four alternatives that emphasize different recreational experiences and management strategies.
