Hauer FR. 2007. Assessment of Septic Leachate: A Survey of Lake McDonald, Glacier National Park (Preliminary Report). Flathead Lake Biological Station, The University of Montana. Polson, MT
Septic leachate study of private inholding septic systems around Lake McDonald, conducted in 2006. Dye was introduced into landowner septic tanks and leach fields to see if dye emerges in Lake McDonald. Additionally, remotely-sensed, airborne high resolution and hyperspectral data were analyzed for algal spectral signatures associated with leachate.
