Distribution and status of the wolverine in montana

Newby FE and Wright PL. 1955. Distribution and status of the wolverine in montana. Journal of Mammalogy. 36(2):248-253

Presents wolverine sightings 1944-1953 in NW Montana. References the post-trapping era and emergence of higher mountain areas along the Continental Divide specifically Glacier NP, as a "reservoir of breeding stock". Authors conclude from the data that the wolverine is not threatened with extinction but may be increasing its numbers and repopulating its range in MT.
