The North Pacific / Columbia Basin fire effects monitoring crew spent the 2007 season revisiting 52 plots within North Cascades National Park (NOCA), John Day Fossil Beds National Monument (JODA), San Juan Island National Historical Park (SAJH), and Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area (LARO); installing new plots at SAJH, LARO, and NOCA; and assisting with the NOCA Tolo fire operations in July and August. Pre- and post-field-season time was spent completing trainings, data entry, identification of specimens, and creating a virtual herbarium. The report summarizes the management objectives (fuel load and exotic cover reduction, restoration of native forb/grass cover) and findings for each park's monitoring plot data.
