The author analyzed water quality data collected from Biscayne Bay (Biscayne National Park, FL) for a 12-year period. The authors calculated data summaries of 11 variables for all the sampling stations and the categories of sampled depths. Sampling stations were located at the mouth of various canals (nearshore) and further offshore in the bay. On the average, ammonium, turbidity, and dissolved oxygen were the most variable; pH and the nitrate ion were the next most variable while salinity and the conductivity were the least variable. The authors also investigated the impact of canal water discharge into the bay (using the records from the Moody and Mowry canals). Sampling statistics for a number of sampling stations are provided at the end of the report.
