Due to changes which take place and affect the management of a National Park Service area, there is always the need to periodically reevaluate the guidelines by which a park is achieving its objectives. The existing master plan for Bryce Canyon National Park, now referred to as a general management plan, was approved in 1966. Considering the evolution that has occurred since the master plan was approved, approximately 13 years ago, a number of issues have surfaced necessitating a reevaluation and update of the old master plan.
