This study was done in order to address the possibility of water withdrawal for domestic water supply from diversion areas in the Indian River during much of the year. The objectives of the Indian river study were to identify the instream flow requirements of Indian river for maintaining habitat areas and populations of fish within the boundaries of Sitka National Historical Park, to assess potential impacts to fishery resources and their habitat that could occurr if water was withdrawn from Indian River, and to assist both resource managers and developers in preparing and evaluating alternatives that might prevent or decrease impacts to the fishery resources caused by water withdrawal. Annual instream flow requirements for the riverine fishery habitat resources of Indian River, within the boundaries of Sitka National Historical Park are summarized within the body of the report.
