The Plan outlines agency policy, regulations, and guidelines as well as discussing specific management issues. A detailed discussion of a variety of recreational "themes" of varying importance to each cooperating agency is also presented. Three broad goals and are defined and several associated objectives are outlined. From each of these objectives flow a series of measurable tasks which will provide for continued protection of Buffalo Rivers' fishery. Broad goals for management of Buffalo Rivers' fishery include: 1) Fisheries management will seek to preserve and restore natural ecosystem functions while conserving the fishery. 2) Provide for diverse and qualitative recreational angling opportunities for native species. 3) Coordinate resources management with State, federal, and private sector. The specific tasks are broken down into cooperating agency, advisory group, and National Park Service division responsibilities in Section VI of the Plan.
