The following science articles provide a glimpse of the research being done in Carlsbad Caverns National Park. This research is often a cooperative effort between federal and state agencies, with valuable contributions from university scientists, students, and other partners. The park resource management staff inventories and monitors important resources such as bats, mountain lions, migratory birds, and endangered cactus. Other scientists are conducting in-depth inquiries into cave geology, water quality, paleontology, microbiology, mammalogy, and fire ecology.
