This article discusses the study which was conducted from June 1975 to July 1976 in the Sullivan and Quintonkon Creek drainages, major tributaries of the South Fork of the Flathead River, to understand better the effects of vegetational succession on populations of wolverine, as well as those of other predators. The study indicates that clearcuts provide diverse habitats for small mammals through different stages of forest succession. These species form an abundant source of food for various species of predators.
