Stromatolites of the lower Missoula Group (Middle Proterozoic), Belt supergroup, Glacier National Park, Montana

Horodyski RJ. 1975. Stromatolites of the lower Missoula Group (Middle Proterozoic), Belt supergroup, Glacier National Park, Montana. Precambrian Research. :215-254

The present study is directed toward understanding the mode of growth, and determining the effect of environmental factors on such growth, of well-preserved stromatolites occurring in the lower part of the Middle Proterozoic Missoula Group, Glacier National Park, Montana. These stromatolites and contained microfossils provide a sound basis for understanding the nature of the complex interplay between environmental and biological factors that have resulted in their formation.
