This report addresses a comprehensive study that attempts to put into perspective and summarize numerous data on the geologic, geomorphologic, climatologic, and hydrolic forces that affect northwest Florida's coastal islands. Using graphs, pictures, and computer simulations the report quantifies the response of the islands to all of the natural forces, with emphasis placed on Santa Rosa Island and Perdido Key. It includes a description of sea level changes over time and constructs an integrated chronometric sequence of events along Santa Rosa and Perdido Key Islands. Changes in the shorelines and shore bottoms are quantified and discussed. Actions of wave energy and sediment transport are analyzed.
