Age and Size Structure of Coaster Brook Trout in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Leonard J and Kusnierz P. 2008. Age and Size Structure of Coaster Brook Trout in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Pages 40. In National Park Service: Western Great Lakes Research Conference. Marquette, Michigan. April 1-2, 2008. National Park Service. Marquette, Michigan

In Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, wild brook trout that exhibit coasting behavior without attaining the large sizes historically associated with coasters are being studied. Data suggests that initiation of coasting may not be linked to juvenile growth-at-age parameters and that other environmental issues may be important in determining the life history strategy adopted.
