Reports progress of a one-year study of the interrelationships of exotic and native plants and animals in Kipahulu Valley. Details rat, bird, feral pig, and exotic plant abundance, as well as effects of human activity. Also describes the discovery of a cave containing bones of extinct birds. Tables list pig damage, exotic plant occurrence and rat abundance on 6 transects, results of arboreal trapping for rats, rat predation, and relative abundance of birds in the valley.
