Mount Logan wilderness reference condition and social preferences for ecological restoration

DeMillion MA. 1999. Mount Logan wilderness reference condition and social preferences for ecological restoration. Northern Arizona University

This thesis determined a ecological reference condition for Mt. Logan Wilderness based on the number of pre-settlement trees, stumps and snags, and fire scar analysis. A social survey was then conducted to gauge local response to wilderness restoration treatments (mechanical, non-mechanical, prescribed fire). All groups supported all 3 treatment options in greater than 50% of the respondents.
