A letter concerning the impact and management of feral hogs (Sus scrofa) on Horn and Petit Bois Islands in the Gulf Islands National Seashore, Florida and Mississippi. The history of feral hogs and the problems associated with them on the islands is discussed. Observations of hog-rooted sites, and the habitats in which they occur, are reported. There is a discussion concerning the impacts of feral hogs and other exotic animals and feral hog populations. Recommendations for the management of feral hogs on the island are presented.
