Researchers surveyed drainages in the Chisos Mountains of Big Bend National Park (BBNP), Brewster County, Texas for Black-capped Vireos (Vireo atricapillus; BCVI) from May 30 to June 3, 2008. This was the 22nd annual BCVI survey since 1986. Approximately 35.5 observer hours were spent surveying BCVI habitat. Researchers detected between 33 and 35 adult BCVI (23-25 males and 10 females). One BCVI nest was observed.
