The Natural Resource Condition Assessment (NRCA) program is designed to give the managers of Whitman Mission National Historic Site (WHMI) a point in time assessment of their natural resources. The program is designed to better understand and evaluate existing data concerning the condition of natural resources within and adjacent to the park. Both aquatic and upland habitats will be assessed and treated separately along with identifying threats and stressors; such as invasive species, water pollution, and land development; that pose a significant negative impact to WHMI’s natural resources. Information gained from this report will form the basis for development of actions to reduce and prevent impairment of WHMI’s natural resources and assist in the development of Resource Stewardship Plans.
