Klamath Network data mining: 2001-2007

Perry EE and Truitt RE. 2009. Klamath Network data mining: 2001-2007. Natural Resource Report. NPS/KLMN/NRR—2009/156. National Park Service. Fort Collins, Colorado

From 2001-2007, the Klamath Inventory and Monitoring (I&M) Network conducted a data mining project, in order to gather information on the I&M Program's 12 Basic Inventories and to catalog the hardcopy and digital references and datasets in the six Klamath Network parks. This report summarizes that effort, with details on the methods used, park-specific notes, conclusions gathered from this project, and recommendations for future efforts. Being the first I&M network to conduct data mining on this large scale, the Klamath Network found some unexpected short-cuts and challenges. The report's purpose is to share the Klamath Network's data mining methods, accomplishments, lessons learned, and suggestions for the future.
