Chromosomes of Hymenoxys
Speese BM and Baldwin JT. 1952. Chromosomes of Hymenoxys. American Journal of Botany. 39(9):685-688
Thirty-five collections of Hymenoxys representative of both subgenera, of 14 of the 24 recognized species and of 5 varieties, have been cytologically examined. Twelve species have 2n=30; H. acaulis has 2n=60 in 3 varieties and 30 in 1 variety; H. odorata has 2n=22. The annuals of H. odorata generally do not fit into the basic 15 chromosome series exhibited by the majority of the genus (primarily perennial).
