Sticky buckwheat (Eriogonum viscidulum) is a rare endemic plant to the Virgin River drainage. Large populations of this plant occurred on open sandy beaches in the Overton Arm area of Lake Mead National Recreation Area (NRA) prior to high water events of 1998-1999. A survey of open beaches in 2001 revealed that few plants remained in these areas above high water. A return visit was made to most of these sites in 2003. Four sites were surveyed.
