Small mammals were trapped in forested patches within the Grand Sable Dunes of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore to document the presence and distribution of small mammal species, and to estimate the spatial and genetic population structure of mice (Peromyscus spp.) in this area. Nine small mammal species and the range expansion of the white-footed mouse (Peromyscus leucopus) into this area were documented.
