A survey of the amphibians and reptiles in the Gulf Islands National Seashore (GUIS), Florida and Mississippi. Methods for sampling species included the following: drift fences and pitfall traps, aquatic trapping, artificial shelters, frog breeding surveys, road surveys, spotlight surveys, turning over cover, and seining. The results are discussed and presented in tabular form. Tables show the numbers of each species caught and efficiency of different capture methods. An annotated species list includes the following information: locations of observations, descriptions, similar species in area, larvae, voice, general habits, methods of capture and relative effectiveness, and capture summary. Recommendations for monitoring amphibians and reptiles in GUIS are proposed.
