This is a final report on the monitoring of the fauna of the brackish/freshwater ponds on the various islands of Gulf Islands National Seashore in Mississippi and in Florida. Islands surveyed include Perdido Key and Santa Rosa Island in Florida; Petit Bois, Horn, and Ship Islands in Mississippi. Observations are reported concerning the feeding habits of fish and on the occurrence of parasites of large invertebrates and vertebrates associated with the ponds. The report contains an extensive appendices which includes taxonomic lists of the various macrofauna and the various parasites reported. Chemical analysis is also reported based upon quarterly sampling.
