Gunderson LH, Loope LL, Maynard WR. 1982. An inventory of the plant communities of the Turner River area, Big Cypress National Preserve, Florida. National Park Service South Florida Research Center Report T-648. National Park Service, South Florida Research Center, Everglades National Park. Homestead, FL

Inventory of the plants in the Turner River area of Big Cypress National Preserve (Florida), with information on quantitative inventory techniques for vegetation. The report includes tables with data for individual plant species of freshwater swamp forests, pine forests, mixed hardwood associations, marshes and prairies, and areas with exotic plants. The authors developed a vegetation map [in back pocket] to document current distributions of plant communities. The report discusses correlations between plant communities and elevation, soil type, and hydrologic patterns. With schematic maps for aquatic vegetation, elevational profile of the 5 transects and indication of relative elevation, graphs of hydroperiods and soil depths.
