An investigation of radionuclide concentrations in tissues of elk utilizing Los Alamos National Laboratory land

Tissues from five elk (Cervus elaphus) at the Los Alamos National Laboratory lands were tested for radionuclide contamination. The elk were taken from abandon technical areas which had reported higher than normal radioactivity. Tissues that were tested were from the brain, hair, heart, jawbone, kidneys, leg bone, liver, and muscles. The results were compared with four cow elk taken from other parts of the state.
