Extensive sampling over four years has produced data on soil, cacti, lichens, tree rings, and air particulates at Saguaro National Monument and to a lesser extent at several other areas for comparison. Inorganic air pollutants were investigated in all these, showing that there are elevated levels of some trace elements, though as yet no clear connection with any biological damage. Organic compound measurements are much more complex and expensive to analyze, and have not yet been studied in this respect. There are seven pages of text, and the rest is data.
