The principal objectives of this report are to provide an overall assessment of the history of scientific study in Isle Royale National Park, and to compile a bibliography citing the numerous scientific studies that have taken place in the park and its immediate surroundings. This report emphasizes scientific studies that have been conducted since the turn of the century. It has chapters on geology, soils, climate, vegetation, terrestrial fauna, aquatic systems, and disturbance history.
