The Johnson River prospect, Alaska : gold-rich sea-floor mineralization from the Jurassic

Steefel CI. 1987. The Johnson River prospect, Alaska : gold-rich sea-floor mineralization from the Jurassic. Economic Geology. 82:894-914

This 1987 report by Anaconda Minerals Co. for the Cook Inlet Regional Corporation (CIRI) details the mineralization of the Johnson River prospect. This prospect is a gold-zinc-copper-lead resource located in the upper drainage of Johnson River near Tuxedni Bay. CIRI selected the land underlying the prospect in 1976 and owns the mineral rights. Since the early 1980s CIRI and Anaconda Minerals have joint-ventured projects to evaluate the mineral potential of the prospect. This report suggests that stockwork bodies (with potential gold content) are more common in the prospect than previously recognized
