This exhaustive article describes igneous rocks collected during two field seasons (1919 and 1923) from the Katmai region. Rocks representing typical specimens of various compositions, modes of occurrence, and age are analyzed and results tabulated and plotted on a variation diagram. Descriptions of the field relations and the petrography are given. The plot of analyses of Katmai rocks shows an almost linear variation of constituents over a wide range. This characteristic is discussed with relation to processes of differentiation.
