The guidelines detailed here concern land use practices in the Park Protection Zone, a sensitive area in the Redwood Creek basin just above the Redwood National Park boundary. As logging in this area can threaten resources within the park, a process had been set up involving park review and comments on timber harvest plans, encouraging cooperation with timber companies to help improve forest practices. In addition to specific guidelines, the document includes a table of statistics on timber harvest reviews conducted by the National Park Service. The last section is a mass-movement checklist and mass erosion hazard evaluation with instructions for use.
