This Alaska Cooperative Wildlife Research Unit paper documents the winter-time activity budgets of moose. The study was conducted along the Kuzitrin River in 1987, and behavioral data were collected from March 5 to May 2. Time budgets for moose in late winter were intermediate between values reported in previous studies. This research showed moose spending more time walking than previously reported. Evidence is presented that without predation in winter, ambient conditions may cause synchrony in the activity patterns of individual moose
