An aquatic survey of the Palikea and Pipiwai Streams in Kipahulu Valley. Presents a description of major aquatic features and riparian floral communities; surveys stream biota, particularly native and endemic macrofauna; determines the physical and biological quality of the stream; and offers resource management recommendations. Table gives monthly measurements of discharge, temperature, pH, HCO3, CO3, specific conductance, dissolved solids, total hardness, dissolved nitrite/nitrate, and dissolved orthophosphorus for Palikea Stream. Appendix A is an "Inventory of the Aquatic Macrofauna of Palikea and Pipiwai Streams, Kipahulu." Appendix B is an "Inventory of the Riparian Flora of Palikea and Pipiwai Streams, Kipahulu."
