The Asociacion Civil Proteccion de le Fauna Mexicana (Profauna A.C.), in conjunction with the National Park Service through Big Bend National Park and Sul Ross State University, is involved in an effort to learn more about the people who inhabit the border region between Coahuila and Chihuahua that adjoins the Big Bend National Park, , their practices and systems of production. At the same time Profauna A.C. is looking for primary alternatives that not only will end or decrease the livestock trespass, but also that will help to improve the conditions of life in these Ejidos. Such solutions should also provide for the establishment of programs for the conservation of the renewable natural resources of the border region
