The Marshes of Mississippi

Eleuterius LN. 1972. The Marshes of Mississippi. Castanea. 37(3):153-168

A survey of plant species along salinity gradients in estuarine marshes on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. The methods involved sampling vegetation along transects established in varying salinity gradients in all of the marshes along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. There are discussions concerning the results, dredging operations, plant colonization, pollution, and development along the Gulf Coast. There are profile diagrams of the estuarine marshes sampled showing relative topography and vegetation zones.
