This is the December 1970 preliminary draft of the Master Plan for Mammoth Cave National Park. It contains an introduction; a visitor profile; a listing of park resources with a description of the historical and present day park usage; future plans for the park which center around the construction of a visitor staging area at the park boundary and increasing accessibility of the Hilly Country section of the park. Appendixes present an abbreviated history of the park with copies of the enabling legislation; a bibliography; and a checklist of team members and consultants to the Master Plan. Area maps which details on transportation distances and routes, accommodations and other attractions within Mammoth Cave National Park boundaries, and general waterflow and land use zoning maps without detail are included with this report.
