Middle Pecos Culture Sequence and Holocene Climate

Gunn J. 1987. Middle Pecos Culture Sequence and Holocene Climate. Pages 65-86. In Katz P: Advances in Middle Pecos Archaeology: Proceedings of a Symposium Held at the Fourth Jornada Mogollon Conference. Tularosa, NM. October 12, 1985

This article takes information on global climate and cultural sequences during the Holocene to project the paleoclimate of the Middle Pecos in New Mexico. The global climate information is based on pollen and tree-ring evidence. The theorized results are supported by packrat midden analyses. The relationships of human culture to climate is discussed.
