A specimen of the Western mud snake was collected 4.1 miles west of Liberty Hill Fire Tower on Farm Road 943 in Southeastern Polk County, TX. Dissection and examination was done, and a new minimum number of eggs was recorded for this species, puting the range at 6-104. The wide range is presumed to correlate with the wide range in body size of sexually mature specimens.
