Describes a year-long project at `Ohe`o Gulch to develop population survey methodologies for gathering biological information about native freshwater- amphidromous fishes, crustaceans, and gastropods. Direct observation of populations of `o`opu (Lentipes concolor, Sicyopterous stimpsoni, and Awaous guamensis), `opae kuahiwi (Atya bisulcata), and hihiwai (Neritina granosa) was used; and the alien prawn Macrobrachium lar was trapped for examination. Overall, habitat quality was poor, although some upper stream segments exhibited better condition. Low native faunal abundance was observed. Includes tables of raw data collected and a code for resampling the computer program used to analyze data.
