This report includes a summary and outline of the history of Mount Rainier National Park. The purpose of this paper is to provide an outline of the pertinent historical facts which could be used in the development of a museum layout and displays in connection with the development of a museum at Mount Rainier National Park. This preliminary summary and outline should be useful as an introduction to the history of the Northwest. It includes the discovery, exploration, settlement, and ascents of Mount Rainier. Also included is the chronology of events with respect to Mount Rainier as well as a bibliography of historical sources.
