This study gives results from aerial surveys of mountain goat populations conducted between 23 July and 3 August 1990 in discrete areas of Kenai Fjords National Park. In addition to estimating the abundance and distribution of mountain goats in different areas of the park, count accuracy and reliability were compared between data collected by fixed-wing aircraft and by helicopter. Units selected for study were the Exit Glacier unit and the Aialik unit. No conclusive statements could be made about the relative merits of each aircraft for mountain goat trend counts.
