Mountain goat survey, Kenai Fjords National Park, 1985

Adams LG. 1986. Mountain goat survey, Kenai Fjords National Park, 1985. Natural Resources Survey and Inventory Report. US National Park Service Alaska Region. Anchorage, AK

This report presents the results of an aerial survey performed to determine population numbers and composition as well as abundance and distribution of mountain goats within Kenai Fjords National Park. The survey was conducted 25-30 July 1985, and 800 mountain goats were observed inside Park boundaries. The author speculates that increased numbers since a 1981 survey may be due to additional flight time rather than an actual increase in population.
