The distribution of Pediomelum pariense in Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah, and the vegetation and soils associated with it are described. Management suggestions are presented. Information about the habitat of a plant species proposed for threatened or endangered designation is essential. A detailed habitat description provides guidance for the search for other possible locations to improve knowledge of the species' distribution and abundance, which can affect decisions about its status and identify areas where special protection me be warranted. A habitat description also provides information required for planning and executing recovery programs: selection of possible transplant sits; guidelines for vegetation manipulation to increase or improve habitat.
