A total of 35 streams were surveyed from the air between 26 March and 5 May 1987. For Brooks and Naknek rivers, estimated spawning abundance was 270 and 366 rainbow trout, respectively. Comparison of survey estimates between 1972 and 1987 indicate that rainbow trout spawning abundance was low in 1987.
