This report provides the results of an aerial bald eagle nesting survey conducted in the Katmai area in May 1976 and of a productivity survey conducted in late June and early August 1976. A total of 55 active nests were tabulated, and 44 of these were within the Monument. During the survey, 39 adult eagles and 7 juveniles were sighted in the interior region, with 18 of the adults incubating. Eagles were not tabulated along the coast. Productivity of interior nests averaged 1.8 eaglets per nest. An osprey nest was found on the American River and a goshawk nest on the Savonoski River.
