This report provides the results of an aerial bald eagle nesting survey conducted in the Katmai area in spring 1978 and of a productivity survey conducted in early August 1978. Twenty-three active nests were counted in the interior region. Nesting success averaged 1.2 eaglets per nest; of the 17 nests checked, 6 had no young, 5 had one young each, 3 had two young each, and 3 had three young each. Two osprey nests were sighted, one on the American River and one on the Savonoski River.
