A description of a new species of bee (Hesperapis oraria) occurring only on the Gulf Coast of Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi. The distribution, ecology, behavior, and host species (Balduina angustifolia (Asteraceae)) of the bee are discussed. A map shows the locations of observations.
